I signed up for a 30-day challenge with Rita Giegel Fitness because for years I felt awful about myself. I gained more weight then I’d like to admit over the past few years, and I had two babies within a 17-month time frame. I was losing weight prior to the challenge; however, I hit the same plateau I always do – the plateau I quit at and go back to my old ways. So why was I plateauing? After joining Rita’s challenging, I finally figured out the answer to the question I had been searching for years to find.
I was doing it all wrong. I was eating limited calories. I was exercising, but I was either eating way too much that day because “I deserved it” or I would starve myself and be carb binging by 7PM. I would do straight cardio, and I never built any muscles.

Rita has taught me so much. She taught me that you must eat a lot to lose weight. She taught me what in the world a macro was and made me a macro counting pro in a few short weeks. She taught me that working out doesn’t mean hours at the gym – 30 minutes a day at your home is all you need. She taught me that I should quit “dieting” and change my entire outlook on nutrition. What’s a world without donuts, wine, and iced coffee? A world I don’t want to be a part of. I didn’t give up any one food or food group. Moderation is key. What I love most about this plan is you don’t cut out any food groups – not even carbs! Cutting out food groups to me isn’t sustainable. I need sustainability, and that’s what Rita’s health and fitness plan is giving me.
In one month of working with Rita, I lost 10 pounds and 10.75 inches. These results are 5 times what I would’ve seen on my own. I’m so excited to continue to work with Rita on my weight loss journey. She’s absolutely the best!
